Sarah Connor Crowned In ‘Game Of Thrones’

lena_headey_1The latest to join the cast of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” TV adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy book series is Lena Headey who most recently starred as Sarah Connor on Fox’s cancelled series, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”.   Headey landed the role of Cersei Lannister, “a woman of royal blood who is every bit as smart, cunning and devious as the powerful men around her.”

The casting for this adaptation carries great potential!  Click here for our previously confirmed casting news for “Game of Thrones”.   Filming for the pilot commences in late October in Northern Ireland.

I’m so glad to see the wealth of talent that HBO has tapped for this TV adaptation of this series.  Fans of the books are die-hard loyal and it’s really exciting to see the potential for this adaptation build as news rolls in.  If you’re not familiar with this series, think of it like “Lord of the Rings” meets “Godfather” with a keen sense of realism so the label of ‘fantasy series’ is ill-fitting at the heart of the series.  So far it’s just signed on for a pilot and not ordered as a series yet.  Cross your fingers, “Game of Thrones” might be the new “Rome”.
