Check out the latest word on casting for the pilots for these two new superhero-type shows- ABC’s “No Ordinary Family” and NBC’s “The Cape”. Julie Benz (“Dexter”, “Angel”) joins “No Ordinary Family” as the wife of a family who all suddenly find themselves with superpowers. Benz’s character is a “gifted scientist who develops a power for superspeed”. She stars opposite Michael Chiklis, who plays Jim, a artist-turned-police-artist.

In related news about “No Ordinary Family”, Christina Chang (“CSI: Miami”, “24”) has also been cast to the show as a “young police officer who works at the same precinct as Jim”.

“ER” star David Lyons has been cast at the lead in NBC’s “The Cape”. The show is set in a fictional city of angels, following a former cop, who after being framed for a crime, becomes a masked superhero called the Cape, fighting to clear his name and reunite with his son.
