Last we reported for Disney’s The Jungle Book, Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) had been cast as as the voice of the tiger Shere Khan for the film directed by Jon Favreau. The film’s latest casting gain is its voice for Bagheera.
According to THR, Ben Kingsley (Ender’s Game) will be lending his voice for the black panther Bagheera in this live action movie featuring CGI animals.
While we like to keep things pretty separate it’s important to note that there’s another live action/CGI film of The Jungle Book happening at Warner Bros. for which casting has not yet begun. We had reported that at one time Ron Howard was rumored to be nabbing the director’s chair, but it is in fact, being occupied by Andy Serkis who’s had unique experience (acting as Caesar the Ape) with CGI animals in his movies Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Disney’s The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau and featuring the voices of Idris Elba and Ben Kingsley is slated to hit theaters October 9, 2015
