The writers of “Zombieland” may have landed the sweet job of scripting the “Deadpool” movie. Fox is looking at Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the Merc With A Mouth. While nothing is official yet, it seems like this duo could bring the right sort of tone to the “Deadpool” film.
Ryan Reynolds aka Wade Wilson/Deadpool is on top of the creative team for the movie:
“You want to find the best version of what’s in the comic books, but like a lot of [characters], Deadpool has one of the more inconsistent narratives. It’s tough, because the series has been dropped and reopened so many times. You really have to pick and choose so many of the best elements and cobble those together and create the movie of your dreams.”
Reynolds would like to add Quentin Tarantino to direct “Deadpool”:
“You think directors for a movie like this and you immediately picture [Quentin] Tarantino or somebody like that. Obviously Tarantino is a guy that likes to direct his own material, so there’s a good chance he wouldn’t be the guy. We all have our lists of dream directors.”
SciFiMafia reported that Tarantino was offered “Green Lantern” where he reiterated Reynolds’ assessment that he is more interested in original material.
