ZOMBIELAND Kills The Competition In The Box Office On Its Debut Weekend

zombieland-poster-1Zombies are still the hot commodity as far as entertainment goes. “Zombieland” debuted in the number one spot this past weekend with $24.7 mil, way ahead of the previous front runner of “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs” that racked up $15.8 mil.

The 3D double feature of “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” came in third with $12.5 mil.  This one is only in theaters for a total of 2 weeks so you’d better catch it before it’s gone!

The Invention of Lying” premiered in fourth place with $7 mil, just behind “Surrogates” that took in $7.2 mil its second weekend.  Drew Berrymore’s “Whip It” only brought in $4.7 mil.

Methinks that “Zombieland” will hold the lead for a while yet!
