X-Men: First Class – Ray Wise Enrolls In Vaughn’s Mutant Throwback

Someone’s showing up fashionably late to class. At a recent event celebrating an upcoming Twin Peaks reunion on an episode of the USA network’s comedy Psych, actor Ray Wise (Reaper, Dollhouse,Psych) announced that he has joined the cast of director Matthew Vaughn‘s upcoming X-Film, X-Men: First Class, which has been filming for a little over a month already.

So, who will the man who was once The Devil on The CW series Reaper play, will he be a man or a mutant?

Speaking with IGN -Wise said,

“I’m playing the Secretary of State of the United States. I’ll be going over there in the next couple of weeks. I love (director) Matthew (Vaughn). And Bryan Singer’s producing it and [it’s got] a great cast – James McAvoy, January Jones, Oliver Platt.”

When they asked if he would be in any effects laden scenes – Wise said,

“Well, I think I touch on them, yeah, a bit.”

The film stars James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, January Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Bill Milner, Michael Fassbender, Álex González, Oliver Platt and Ray Wise.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
