X-Men: First Class Casting Causes Havok, Adds Banshee and a New Beast

We recently brought you a rumor that that Caleb Landry Jones would be playing Banshee in director Matthew Vaughn‘s upcoming film, X-Men: First Class. Now, EW is reporting that he has in-fact signed on for the role – in addition, Deadline is reporting that Nicholas Hoult (Clash of the Titans, Mad Max: Fury Road) has signed on to play Hank McCoy/Beast [Pictured Above], a role that was previously going to Benjamin Walker.

According to EW, Lucas Till (Walk the Line, Battle: Los Angeles) is in negotiations for the role of Alexander “Alex” Summers/Havok, the younger brother of Scott Summers/Cyclops [Pictured Above]. Their sources say that the roles named may not be the actual characters in the movie and could simply be part of a misdirection campaign to keep some surprises from X-Men fans. They also say that the previous rumor about Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) being chosen to play Scott Summers/Cyclops in the film is simply not true.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
