Advance solicitations have revealed that the mutant known as X-Man is to return to the Marvel Universe.

Nate Grey will return in issue #2 of the Dark X-Men miniseries, in which he will face off against Norman Osborn’s team of mutants.

Grey, an alternate reality version of the mutant known as Cable, starred in his own miniseries in the ’90s, which ended with him sacrificing himself to save mankind after a 75-issue run.

“X-Man, A.K.A. Nate Grey is back, Sadly, the X-Men that he first encounters are Norman Osborn’s X-Men and they don’t like the idea of an Omega-level mutant that won’t toe the company line.”

“Do they have a chance of defeating X-Man? And if they don’t, what does that mean to Osborn’s agenda?”

It is yet to be revealed how Grey will return from the dead.

Dark X-Men #2 is out in December.
