Wormtongue Slithers Into FRINGE Finale

A Fringe finale wouldn’t be Fringe if it didn’t fascinate us with creepy and horrifying possibilities. The latest in casting news for the Fox show that has been renewed for a fourth season is the addition of Brad Dourif, who will appear in the third season finale set to air on Friday, May 6th.

Dourif, known for his role as Deadwood’s Doc Cochran, Lord of the Rings’ Wormtongue, and the voice of Chucky, will play Moreau, a “well-known Japanese actor… who speaks English.” Now, if you just did a double-take, yes, that does seem a bit odd, doesn’t it? Dourif is not Japanese… he does speak English… but what will Fringe do to this character now? I suspect it will be very interesting indeed!

Also, an interesting side note is that Dourif will be reuniting with fellow Lord of the Rings actor, John Noble, who plays Walter Bishop on Fringe. Noble played Denethor, Steward of the Gondor and father of Boromir and Faramir while Dourif played the double-crossing Wormtongue, aligned with Saruman.

Fringe returns with new episodes on April 15th. This Friday’s repeat will be the musical episode, “Brown Betty” that’s a must-see as you see what Walter sees while he’s tripping!
