Megan Fox is reportedly in talks to play the title character in upcoming Nu Image/Millennium Films epic, Red Sonja. As we reported last month, Rose McGowan who was originally slated to take the lead role in Red Sonja was cast in Marcus Nispel‘s CONAN, which put her role in Red Sonja in question. Now, McGowan, producer Robert Rodriguez and original director Douglas Aarniokoski are reportedly no longer attached to the project.

Red Sonja was invented by Conan creator Robert E. Howard and adapted for Marvel Comics by Roy Thomas and the film will follow the character as she seeks vengeance on those who destroyed her family and fights to save the land of Hyrkania from the evil Kulan Gath.

This has yet to be confirmed by the studio or reps for Ms. Fox, and there is no official production start date for the project. So we’re filing this under rumor for now.
