Will Adam Berg Dive Into The Deadpool Directors Chair?

Back in June, we brought you a report about Robert Rodriguez being offered the directors chair on 20th Century Fox‘s upcoming big-screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics‘ Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. The way things are shaping up with Reynolds’ schedule, they had better get this project set up with some director and have it waiting for one of the cinematic Green Lantern‘s few weeks off.

Now, the LA Times reports that “…sources familiar with the project say a new name has emerged for the [Deadpool] director’s chair, and it’s an unconventional one: Adam Berg, a heretofore little-known Swedish commercial and video director.

While Berg has never helmed a feature film, he has directed a short commercial film entitled Carousel, which won the Cannes Lions International Advertising prize in 2009. Like Michael Bay and many directors before him, Berg has also directed a few music videos.

Check out Berg’s short below.

Deadpool is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
