WHAT?!? The CW Pushes Return of SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL One Week

In an incredibly last minute move, the CW has decided to push back the midseason return of Smallville and Supernatural one week. So instead of these beloved shows returning tonight, what’s happening? The network has decided to re-broadcast the midseason return of its Thursday night shows, The Vampire Diaries and Nikita.

From the mouth of a CW insider:

“The network wanted a chance to re-peat tonight’s return of Vampire Diaries and Nikita on Friday to give their midseason debuts some additional sampling. Diaries, in particular, is going up against Idol. Plus, there’s some local market pre-emptions that are going to mess with the scheduling of tonight’s shows in certain cities (Chicago and Baltimore, if you must know).”

[The Shakedown]

I’m afraid that the CW has just pissed off a LOT of fans today. They know that they have a huge fan base for both Smallville and Supernatural and still they make this decision.

Now, I had eagerly anticipated the return of The Vampire Diaries, but I am also a fan of Smallville and Supernatural. Plus, there are such things as DVRs! I have already watched the return of TVD, but now, I’m ready for the return of Allison Mack as Chloe and the Winchester brothers to kick some demon ass!  Fans, I am with you in your frustration.

Re-mark your calendars for the return of Smallville and Supernatural on the CW, February 4, 2011. The CW will air the last episode before the midseason break for both shows on the preceeding Wednesday night.
