Warner Bros. Is Worried About the Bane Problem in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

By now, you’ve likely seen the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, and you may have seen the prologue as well. While everyone is basically in awe about the things that take place in both, it’s become an almost unanimous chorus of complaints about Bane’s (Tom Hardy) voice being virtually unintelligible in both.

According to THR, the complaints about Bane’s voice are reportedly making the folks at Warner Bros. Pictures very nervous about what they’re now calling “the Bane problem”.

“Sources close to the movie say Warner Bros. is very aware of the sound issue. One source working on the film says he is “scared to death” about “the Bane problem.”

Director Christopher Nolan is only planning to make slight alterations to the sound mix prior to the release of the film, despite requests from the studio to take more drastic action.

An anonymous high-level executive is quoted as saying,

“Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn’t dumb things down, You’ve got to pedal faster to keep up.”
