Warner Bros has hired the visual effects team that will light up the GREEN LANTERN. Sony Pictures Imageworks will be the lead visual effects studio and the overall vfx supervisors on the project will be Karen Goulekas (“The Day After Tomorrow”), Kent Houston (“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”) and Jim Berney (“I Am Legend”) will be vfx supervisor.

If you have any trepidation about Imageworks’ doing the vfx for GL and the Corps., they have some awesome superhero cred – including “Watchmen” and “Superman Returns” for Warner Bros., as well as the Spider-man franchise.

“Green Lantern”, starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively is slated to hit theaters on June 17, 2011.
