Warner Bros. Has Plans For GREEN LANTERN Including An Animated Series

Surrounding the premiere of the live-action “Green Lantern” movie starring Ryan Reynolds, Warner Bros plans to roll out supporting products in building this global brand. Despite our earlier report in April citing Bruce Timm’s news that a sequel to the animated “Green Lantern: First Flight” was not going to happen, it seems that a sequel may still be alive. A slide from a Warner Bros presentation a few days ago indicates the studio’s plans for a television series in a package to build “Green Lantern” as a global brand that includes a direct-to-DVD movie in June 2011 and a CG TV series out in November of 2011. Whether either of these will be a sequel to “First Flight”, it’s still too early to tell. Video games, more comic book coverage, and digital content are also in the works.

It also appears that Warner Bros is trying to establish continuity with the DC universe in the film world with this slide below.

The “Green Lantern” live-action movie also stars Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Jon Tenney, Jenna Craig, and Temuera Morrison.
