Angelina Jolie has officially dropped out of the in-development WANTED sequel, and Universal has decided to pull the plug on the Timur Bekmambetov-directed project rather than re-writing the script, or recasting Jolie’s assassin character Fox, who appeared to die at the end of the original 2008 film.
Jolie opted to, instead lead the cast of a science fiction film from Children of Men director Alfonso Cuarón titled Gravity. The story, similar to last year’s Moon, centers on a surviving member of a space mission who is desperate to return to Earth to see her daughter.
Children Of Men director Cuarón co-wrote the Gravity script with his son Jonás, while Harry Potter’s David Heyman will produce for Warner Bros.
