Vin Diesel Will Finally Make A Third RIDDICK

We told you last December about Vin Diesel claiming on his facebook page that the Riddick team was doing some location scouting in New Zealand. While we didn’t necessarily doubt Diesel, though he has verbally kept hope alive for a sequel to the 2004 film “The Chronicles Of Riddick” but nothing has officially come to fruition all that time.

Now, Variety is confirming that Vin Diesel will star in and produce a third installment in the “Chronicles of Riddick” franchise – simply titled ‘RIDDICK’. David Twohy, who wrote and directed both Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, will direct again from a screenplay he wrote.

Insiders are saying that the third film will be closer in tone to the cult hit Pitch Black and will focus on the character of Riddick as opposed to the universe he inhabits.

Universal Pictures will handle domestic distribution and Lionsgate is currently selling international rights.
