With the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII set to start filming in London in April, we’ve been sitting a bit on the edge of our seats waiting to hear the first whispers of casting news from the film. Today we have our first official “in talks” from the J.J. Abrams project.
According to Variety the ink is still pretty wet on the deal, but Adam Driver (Adam Sackler on the show Girls) is the man to play the film’s main villain. Here’s what Variety had to say about the status of the deal.
The delay in making a decision was due to scheduling issues with “Star Wars” and his HBO show “Girls.” Sources say it’s not just Season 4 that was the hangup, but also future seasons, since future “Star Wars” installments could also coincide with upcoming seasons of the HBO Lena Dunham comedy.
Sources are now telling Variety that scheduling issues have been resolved and that a deal should be finalized in the coming days.
We’ll be sure and keep you posted on the latest for Star Wars: Episode VII, which is slated to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
