Vertigo has released a preview of Grant Morrison’s forthcoming Joe the Barbarian comic.

It was also confirmed on the official Graphic Content blog that the miniseries has been extended to eight issues. It will be illustrated by Sean Murphy (Hellblazer, Off Road).

The series, about a diabetic man who hallucinates about a fantasy world when left untreated, has been described by Morrison as “Lord of the Rings meets Home Alone”.

Joe the Barbarian will debut in January 2010.
