We told you back in October that director Rupert Sanders (The Low Dweller) was set to helm Universal Pictures‘ forthcoming take on the fairy tale, Snow White. The film is entitled Snow White and the Huntsman, and was written by Evan Daugherty (Rusty Forkblade, Shrapnel).
Now, Deadline reports that Charlize Theron (Young Adult, Mad Max: Fury Road) is currently in negotiations to play the Evil Queen in Universal’s film, which may star Michael Fassbender (Jane Eyre, A Dangerous Method) as The Huntsman. In addition, THR reports that actress (and granddaughter of Elvis), Riley Keough (The Runaways) is at the top of Universal’s short list to play the title role of Snow White.
The Snow White news doesn’t stop there… Relativity Media‘s take on the Snow White story, which was originally to be directed by Brett Ratner and has since been shifted to the directorial talents of Tarsem Singh (The Cell, Immortals), entitled The Brothers Grimm: Snow White has it’s sights set on Julia Roberts (Eat Pray Love, Larry Crowne) to play its Evil Queen.
Snow White and the Huntsman is slated to hit theaters on December 21st, 2012.
