I’m super excited about seeing Maleficent, but I’m sort of counting on it being just outside of the kind of fun my kids would enjoy, and I’m hoping for something a little creepier than a fairy tale, but where you’ve got sympathy for a character you might have previously misunderstood. These two new posters are fabulous, though I wish the second one had been expanded to include the horns, because HORNS.
And following those two posters is the charming picture of mother (Jolie) and daughter (Vivienne Jolie-Pitt) together on the set in character as witch and little princess. Here’s what Angelina Jolie said to EW about casting her young daughter.
We think it’s fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That’s not our goal for Brad and I at all. But the other 3- and 4-year-old [performers] wouldn’t come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn’t afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.
Aww. So cute. Well wait no longer! Enjoy!
Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Juno Temple is slated to hit theaters May 30th, 2014.
