Nu Image/Millennium Films along with director Renny Harlin have found their Hercules for the $70 million epic, Hercules 3D. They have chosen Twilight star Kellan Lutz. But don’t let his past movie experience fool you that he’s just a pretty face attached to the film.

Here’s what director Renny Harlin had to say about the decision to cast Kellan Lutz as Hercules when he spoke to THR.

It takes more than a good physique to portray the most legendary, mythological personality in history — and Kellan has exactly that, personality. He’s not afraid to explore the strengths and vulnerabilities of the character, and he impressed me with his passion and heart.

Now, this is not to be confused with MGM/Paramount’s production of Hercules directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Hercules. You can check out our coverage for that here.
