Summary:
In the Season 2 finale, “Second Time,” Kiera races to rescue Alec from himself and preserve her own chance of getting home, while Alec must make a difficult decision between solving Kiera’s dilemma or his own.
In Continuum, Nichols (Criminal Minds, Alias) stars as a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day. When a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution in 2077 by vaulting back in time to 2012, they inadvertently sweep along Kiera, a dedicated City Protective Services officer.
With unexpected assistance from teen tech genius Alec Sadler, played by Erik Knudsen (Jericho, Scream 4), Kiera infiltrates the local police department and forms an uneasy alliance with her new partner, detective Carlos Fonnegra, portrayed by Victor Webster (Castle, Melrose Place). Though desperate to get back to her husband and son, Kiera concentrates on bringing down the terrorists before they change the course of history.
This Continuum episode was so good, I’m sort of at a loss for words…….
It’s really important that I preface this preview by saying that if you have plans tomorrow night to do anything BUT watch the season finale of Continuum, you need to reschedule. Tomorrow night’s season finale is Not. To. Be. Missed. And if life got in the way of television, as it so often can, and you’ve gotten behind on episodes of Continuum, then use your time wisely between now and Friday night (you can sleep when you’re dead) and catch up in time for the finale.
This season has been building a lot of confusing characters with Liber8 dividing and reuniting and then adding the “Freelancers” into the mix, all while the lines of good and bad have been getting more and more blurry. Friday night’s episode is everything you hope it would be and more.
Every stop is pulled out for this episode. Fantastic effects, bone crushing action, surprising reveals, season-long questions answered, and jaw-dropping final moments. This episode crushes a typical season finale with its game changing twists and will leave you with a perfectly satisfying end to the season, and complete devastation that you will have to wait several months for it to be back on TV.
So make plans to watch the Season Finale for Continuum live and don’t become a statistic and spoiled on the internet later. At the very least DVR it and watch it as soon as humanly possible. Go check your DVR now and make sure it’s set to record. Really. You don’t want to miss it.
I give Continuum: Season 2 Episode 13 “Second Time” Five out of Five Stars.
