Summary:

Can a courageous cop prevent worldwide catastrophe and bring terrorists to justice – 65 years in the future? Syfy‘s popular time traveling police drama Continuum returns with 13 all-new episodes, when Season 2 premieres in a new time period, beginning Friday, June 7 at 10PM (ET/PT)

The time-traveling police drama’s thrilling premiere season came to a heart-pounding conclusion when Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols) battled a ticking clock to prevent a cataclysmic act of terrorism.

In Continuum, Nichols (Criminal Minds, Alias) stars as a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day. When a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution in 2077 by vaulting back in time to 2012, they inadvertently sweep along Kiera, a dedicated City Protective Services officer.

With unexpected assistance from teen tech genius Alec Sadler, played by Erik Knudsen (Jericho, Scream 4), Kiera infiltrates the local police department and forms an uneasy alliance with her new partner, detective Carlos Fonnegra, portrayed by Victor Webster (Castle, Melrose Place). Though desperate to get back to her husband and son, Kiera concentrates on bringing down the terrorists before they change the course of history.

Continuum - Season 2

When last we saw our Continuum friends we were left in the wake of a major building bombing and with more question than answers about why Keira (Rachel Nichols) has been sent back in time.

I did find the start of the episode a little hard to follow at first because we are once again flipping back and forth in time with some action scenes, and it takes a few minutes to get everything sorted into the right time compartments. Once everything is sorted we do actually do start getting a good bit of our questions answered and of course, like any good show, we get even more questions.

The episode is great and I enjoyed it much more the second time when I could sort out everything better, though one scene in particular stands alone and does not get sorted, and I’m curious to see how that is handled, which I love. Also the ending is just perfect. I cannot wait to see the next episode!

Continuum - Season 2

It’s great to see the gang back together and I think it really comes through the show that they all really get along and want to bring their A-game to this great show. The writing for the dialogue banter is fun and I never get tired of Keira’s confusion with pop culture references.

Enjoy the episode, my friends! Continuum is back! Yay!!!

I give Continuum: Season 2 Episode 1 “Second Chances” 5 out of 5 stars.
