True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård Boards Peter Berg’s BATTLESHIP, Filming To Begin In August

Back in April we brought you the news that Taylor Kitsch (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) joined the cast of Peter Berg‘s upcoming board game turned Sci-Fi film, Battleship. Now, we have word that Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) has signed on to star in the Universal Pictures film.

THR reports that Skarsgård will play Kitsch’s brother, a straight and narrow naval officer whom Kitsch, a wildly spirited naval officer, idolizes.

According to Production Weekly, Battleship will begin filming on August 30th in Hawaii, then move to the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 14th. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 18th, 2012
