True Blood is Hunting for Two More Vamps

It feels like forever since we last saw Bon Temps, so we love to get news about the latest goings-on there. Here’s a cool tidbit: the True Blood casting call has gone out for two new female vampires. The first is apparently someone from Eric’s past, and the second is from even longer ago than that.

According to EW, the first is a character named “Nora, a beautiful and intelligent 25-to-35 something who plays a double agent within the Vampire Authority.” Like Eric, her maker was Godric. The part is meant to be a series regular, and “may (or may not) include nudity”. No kidding. Are they presuming that actors hoping for the role have not seen the show?

The other is a character from the Bible, sort of: it’s Salome, the one who asked her stepdad Herod for John the Baptist’s head. Apparently, she is also a vampire – who knew? That’s not the way we learned it, but hey, we’re open, and True Blood has never pretended to be a documentary.

And now that twangy guitar theme song is in our heads for the rest of the day. Fortunately, that works for us.

True Blood Season 5 will return in 2012 to HBO.
