Paramount Pictures has released a new theatrical trailer, featurette and poster for director Michael Bay‘s forthcoming entry in the Transformers franchise, entitled Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The film stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey and Alan Tudyk.
The theatrical trailer is the 2D version of the new 3D trailer playing in theaters and features just a few small bits of new footage. The poster features everyone’s favorite Camaro and the featurette is an interview with Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor, Scott Farrar, who discusses the effects and attention to details to make the robots just right.
Also included below is a video from 3D: A Transforming Visual Art – A Conversation with James Cameron and Michael Bay. an event held last Wednesday where the two filmmakers spoke about 3D.

Synopsis:
Sam Witwicky, friend to the Autobots, is taking a break from saving the world to struggle with the day-to-day challenges of finding work and love. But once again his life is turned into chaos by the malevolent Decepticons. A Cybertronian spacecraft has been sighted on the moon, and if the Decepticons find it first, they will almost certainly triumph in the Transformers’ ultimate battle. Their evil schemes draw them to Chicago, endangering Sam’s girlfriend and forcing him to save the day once again.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is slated to hit theaters on June 29th, 2011.
