Trailer for Timur Bekmambetov’s BLACK LIGHTNING

Check out this trailer for the Timur Bekmambetov (Director of Wanted) produced film, Black Lightning. He has described the film as the Russian response to Transformers and Batman. Black Lightning is directed by Alexandr Voitinsky and Dmitriy Kiselev

The film was made on a budget of only $8 million dollars, but certainly doesn’t look like it. If you were fortunate enough to watch either of Russian-Kazakh director Timur Bekmambetov’s stylish vampire movies Day Watch or Night Watch, then you know what Russians are capable of with a modest budget.

Чёрная молния or Chernaya Molniya, translated as Black Lightning in English, is a story of a Moscow University student who becomes the owner of ordinary from the first sight, been-used, but… able to fly “Volga” car. With this car he will be able to not only avoid Moscow traffic jams, but unexpectedly for himself turn to city’s defender, mysterious fighter against Evil.
