Tim Robbins Joins The Cast Of GREEN LANTERN

Tim Robbins is joining the cast of “Green Lantern,” the Martin Campbell-directed adaptation of the DC Comic for Warner Bros. Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the movie’s villain, Dr. Hector Hammond, played by Peter Sarsgaard, who becomes infused with psychic powers.

The movie is scheduled to start shooting this March in New Orleans, and is slated to hit theaters on June 17th, 2011. Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris.

Robbins last appeared onscreen in the 2008 sci-fi film “City of Ember.” Green Lantern will be the second comic book movie for Robbins, in case you never saw… or attempted to forget, he appeared in the 1986 George Lucas-produced adaptation of Marvel’s “Howard the Duck.”
