In this era of recycled and rebooted material from our childhoods, some efforts have fallen flat and others have taken off. From the looks of this trailer fresh from WonderCon in San Francisco, it looks like the reboot of ThunderCats may reignite the series for a whole new generation of fans as well as bringing to life memories of the original.

Larry Kenney, who voiced the original Lion-O, lends his voice to King Claudus this time around. Will Friedle is the new voice of Lion-O. Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic produce the show with Sam Register as executive producer (Teen Titans) and Dan Norton is the art director.

ThunderCats will premiere on Cartoon Network in July.
