Marvel Studios has announced that two of their upcoming films, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger will hit theaters in both 2D and 3D. Sadly, both films will undergo a post-conversion to 3D, much like Clash of the Titans, rather than being shot in native 3D like Avatar. The suits at Marvel promise they know what they’re doing and won’t disappoint fans.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige insists:
“When you’re working with a director like Ken Branagh or Joe Johnston, they’re not going to settle for less than perfect image. They’re not going to settle for something that isn’t up to the artistry of everything else they’ve done on the film … they’re not going to put on some overlay in the last 10 to 12 weeks of post-production for a fiscal reason.”
In addition to this new 3D info, Marvel has released this new image from the Kenneth Branagh directed THOR (featuring Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, wielding his Mjolnir). Check it out below!
