THOR: Jeremy Renner’s HAWKEYE To Appear In Cameo

More than a year ago, actor Jeremy Renner (The Town, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) stated that he would have a cameo appearance in Kenneth Branagh‘s big-screen adaptation of Thor, and then later said that “That was just one of those things that got blown way out of proportion,” and that Hawkeye wouldn’t be seen on the big-screen until Joss Whedon‘s forthcoming superhero team-up, The Avengers.

Now, The Wrap reports that a source who has seen an early cut of Thor has confirmed Hawkeye’s appearance in the film. Their source didn’t elaborate on the context of the Hawkeye’s appearance in the film, though they did also state that Samuel L. Jackson‘s character, Nick Fury does not appear in the film.

Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson and Jaimie Alexander is slated to hit theaters on May 6th, 2011.

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston is slated to hit theaters on May 4th, 2012.
