Back in January, we told you that a source who had seen an early cut of director Kenneth Branagh‘s big-screen adaptation of Thor confirmed that Jeremy Renner did appear as Hawkeye in Marvel Studio‘s forthcoming film, starring Chris Hemsworth.
Now, the folks over at Cinema Blend who had just attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas viewed a sizzle reel of Marvel’s forthcoming movie slate and during footage from Thor they got a peek at a scene featuring a certain archer alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg).
“The scene features Hawkeye using his famous bow and arrow and he has multiple lines, so while we’re talking about something a little more than a momentary cameo, there’s no way to know if his involvement will go any further than that one scene.”
ComingSoon, who saw some Hawkeye concept art at CinemaCon had this to say about Renner’s Hawkeye costume:
“Basically, Hawkeye’s costume is going to be very similar to the Ultimates version of the character. In the concept art, we see Renner wearing similar dark glasses and a leather outfit with a matching over-the-shoulder leather quill for his arrows, only the movie version of Hawkeye has the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo emblazoned on it to show his government allegiances. His precision bow is much like the one used by archers who do it for sports and hunting, which again, is also much like the Ultimates Hawkeye.”
THOR directed by Kenneth Branagh is slated to hit U.K. theaters on April 29th, 2011 and U.S. theaters on May 6th, 2011.
The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston is slated to hit theaters on May 4th, 2012.
