The Wolverine: Production Delayed; May Not Film In Japan

Back in June we told you that director James Mangold (Knight and Day) scored the directors chair on the Christopher McQuarrie scripted Wolverine sequel for 20th Century Fox, and at the time the studio wanted the film to begin principal photography this fall.

During San Diego Comic-Con in July, we brought you word from Hugh Jackman (Real Steel) that said “I’m filming Les Miserables in February, but before that I will be filming Wolverine 2 in October“. Now, Deadline received a report from a studio insider who says that because of difficulty finding locations to shoot in Japan due to weather-related considerations, the film could now be shot entirely in Canada, and the start of production may be shifted until after Jackman completes Les Miserables next spring.

The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
