Just a couple of days ago, we brought you the news about director Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) taking himself off of 20th Century Fox‘s shortlist of directors for The Wolverine, leaving José Padilha (Elite Squad 2), Doug Liman (Jumper), Antoine Fuqua (Shooter), Justin Lin (Fast Five), Gavin O’Connor (Warrior), James Mangold (Knight and Day), and short film/commercial director Gary Shore (The Draft).
Now, Deadline reports that James Mangold (Knight and Day) has scored the directors chair on the Christopher McQuarrie scripted project, and Fox wants to start principal photography this fall.
The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
