The Wolverine: Is Duncan Jones Vying For the Directors Chair?

Earlier this month, director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) abandoned the director’s chair of 20th Century Fox‘s forthcoming X-Men spin-off film, The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. The director stated that his reason for leaving the film was the fact that he didn’t want to be out of the country and away from his family for almost a year filming the movie.

Empire recently asked director Duncan Jones (Moon, Soure Code) what was next for him and he said,

“Who knows what’ll be coming up next – I have a lot of meetings and catching-up to do when I get back to LA,” says the director, who’s since confirmed that one of them would be with 20th Century Fox to talk Logan.”

The director also spoke with IGN at London’s Kapow! Comic Con and said,

“[Wolverine is] more interesting to me than Batman. A good Wolverine film could be an amazing thing.”

The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
