We told you less than a month ago that AMC had picked up a fourth season of The Walking Dead but that showrunner Glen Mazzara, who replaced show co-creator and showrunner Frank Darabont during Season 2, would not be joining the party. We now know who will be, and at least one castmember is pleased.
Scott M. Gimple, currently an supervising producer and writer on the show, will be stepping up to the plate for Season 4, according to Deadline.
Gimple wrote some of the more chilling episodes of Season 2 (“Save the Last One,” when we lose Otis; “Pretty Much Dead Already,” when Glen tells the others about the zombies in the barn; “18 Miles Out,” when Rick and Shane have it out, out on the road and Amy talks to Beth about suicide) and Season 3 (“Hounded,” when the phone keeps ringing for Rick, and the upcoming second-to-last episode of the season).
As of this writing there haven’t been any tweets from Gimple, but we did see this last night:

Well that certainly bodes well for the man and the cast. We wish Scott M. Gimple and the entire cast and production of The Walking Dead all the best in Season 4. But first, bring on the second half of Season 3!
