Tonight, on the best guilty-pleasure show for quality eye candy and soap-opera twists, someone may die on The Vampire Diaries. The CW show isn’t losing any steam in its second season. In fact, one might argue that the show is just getting better and better. So whose head is on the proverbial chopping block this time?
This week’s new episode entitled “Plan B” will see Katherine (Nina Dobrev) going after a member of Elena’s (also played by Dobrev) family that doesn’t yet know of the town’s supernatural residents. (Is that a strong enough hint?) Dobrev talks about Katherine’s motives or lack thereof:
“Now that Stefan’s rejected her, she has no ties to the town anymore, so she’ll do anything and everything. She doesn’t care who she kills, even if it’s in front of a room of people. There’s almost no way to stop her.”
Katherine’s game is in high gear as she will impersonate Elena at the Masquerade Ball in next week’s episode “Masquerade”. Can she fool the unsuspecting townspeople? Katherine may be an old vampire, but patience is probably not her strong suit. Dobrev explains:
“Most people in town don’t realize that she’s not Elena. So she’s trying hard to impersonate Elena, but she gets so bored with it because she thinks Elena is dull.”

And what about the Salvatore brothers? Will Stefan (Paul Wesley) be able to handle human blood to level him up to Damon’s vampire capabilities in order to fight Katherine? Wesley talks about the change that Stefan arms himself with:
“Stefan can’t keep being the drab individual he was in Season 1. He’s on the same playing field as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) now. As psycho as Damon is, Stefan needs him as an ally.”
