You don’t have to do much to convince me that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a demigod. Johnson has successfully solidified himself as an action star and professional wrestler and walks between the worlds with ease. He is the most electrifying man in show business- Right now he’s putting boots to asses back on the WWE wresting circuit, has G.I. Joe: Retaliation hitting theaters this year in the summer blockbuster season, and is set to work on the sixth installment of The Fast and the Furious next year.
Variety reported that Johnson has just signed a deal with MGM to star in Brett Ratner’s Hercules, based on the 2008 graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian War by Steve Moore. Ryan Condal adapted the graphic novel published by Radical Publishing for film.
Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber, Jonathan Glickman will produce for MGM alongside Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey, Barry Levine of Radical Pictures and Jesse Berger executive producing.
Hercules will begin production in New Zealand in October. No release date has been set yet.
