Actors are coming out of the woodwork to nominate themselves to be cast as Marvel’s Captain America. “The First Avenger: Captain America” has not cast the iconic hero, but Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen in “Twilight” films), Zachary Levi (“Chuck”), and John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness in “Torchwood”) have all voiced their interest in this role.  Pictured below from left to right is: Kellan Lutz, Zachary Levi, and John Barrowman.

Joe Johnston (“Wolfman”) is set to direct this film adaptation of the legendary American comic book character.  “The First Avenger: Captain America” is expected to start filming next summer and hit theaters on July 22, 2011.
