Just yesterday, we brought you the news about Levin Rambin (CSI: Miami, Wizards of Waverly Place) and Jack Quaid (son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan) having been as Marvel and Glimmer, two tributes from District 1 in the Gary Ross (Pleasantville) directed big-screen adaptation of the first novel in Suzanne Collins‘ best selling trilogy, The Hunger Games.
Now, THR reports that relatively new actress, Willow Shields (Beyond the Blackboard) has scored the role of Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) sister, Primrose “Prim” Everdeen.
Director Gary Ross said,
“Prim is an emotionally demanding role and in many ways she is the cornerstone of the story. Willow Shields will make an amazing Prim and we’re very lucky to have her.”
The Hunger Games is slated to hit theaters on March 23rd, 2012.
