THE EVIL DEAD Remake Gets a Logo

The Evil Dead remake has stirred up excitement amongst its fans to see Bruce Campbell working again with Sam Raimi on the re-telling of Raimi’s 1981 cult classic. Last week, we presented intel that the remake’s spin on the plot was that the “motivation behind the trip, with the lead character taking his younger sister to the family’s cabin to help her kick her drug addiction. Without her drugs she becomes insane and difficult to control, which makes it impossible to see that she’s actually possessed.”

This week, courtesy of Bloody Disgusting, we have the first piece of eye candy for The Evil Dead – the new logo for the remake!

Fede Alvarez (Panic Attack), Rodo Sayagues, and Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body, Juno) wrote the script for this version. Ghost House Pictures is working on this remake and Campbell will also indeed be making a cameo appearance, though not reprising his iconic role of Ash.

Synopsis:

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

The Evil Dead begins shooting in early 2012.
