The Dark Knight Rises Will Not Be Occupying Wall Street

Just last week, we brought you a rumor about production on director Christopher Nolan‘s third Batman film being expected to shoot in Lower Manhattan, right where the Occupy Wall Street protest is currently being held. At the time, it was reported that “cast members have been told the shoot could include scenes shot at the Occupy Wall Street protests.” It was also said that Nolan would likely use the protests as a backdrop for something that already exists in the film, rather than altering the script to include the protest.

Although production on The Dark Knight Rises is set to move to New York, that report from the LATimes has been debunked by a representative from Warner Bros. Pictures who told EW that “there are no plans to shoot in Zuccotti Park, the home base for the OWS movement.

The Dark Knight Rises  directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is slated to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
