The Dark Knight Rises: Pictures of Christopher Nolan’s Visit to Pittsburgh’s TOONSEUM

Just yesterday, we brought you a cool story about director Christopher Nolan taking out a full page ad in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to thank the city after wrapping up production in their fair city on The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.

At the foot of that article, I made mention of Christopher Nolan visiting Pittsburgh’s Museum of Cartoon Art, The Toonseum on the same day in which comic book legend, Jerry Robinson, the man who first put The Joker on paper in 1940 and helped create the Dark Knight’s acrobatic sidekick, Robin was holding an appearance.

Thanks to Joe Wos, executive director over at the Toonseum sending me an image , we get a brief look at this meeting of Bat-Legends. Check it out below, along with an image of a Gotham Rogues ticket that was donated to the museum by the propmaster for The Dark Knight Rises.

Sadly, prior to the film’s production in Pittsburgh, I had never heard of the Toonseum. Now, I officially have another great reason to plan a trip there, aside from all of the historical sites in Pennsylvania. The place really looks cool, and I wish there was one in every city. Make sure you check out their website at Toonseum.org their Facebook page , and if you have a meager $15 you can head over to their Kickstarter page and score yourself a ToonSeum fun pack featuring cartoon stickers, tattoos, a comic book and other surprises, all while helping them fund their forthcoming expansion.

They’ve only got a few weeks left to raise the funds they need, and you were going to buy $15 worth of comics this week anyway, so head over there and help them out!

The Toonseum is located at 945 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222
