The Dark Knight Rises: Josh Stewart Joins the Cast, and the Return of…

Just last week, we told you about Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs) kicking ass as Selina Kyle/Catwoman on the set of director Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming, final entry in his Bat-Trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

Now, Variety reports a new addition to the cast. Josh Stewart (Rehab, The Collection) who you may remember from ABC‘s now-canceled superhero series, No Ordinary Family has joined the cast in a yet-to-be-confirmed role. In addition to the casting of Stewart, there is a super-spoilery unannounced addition to the cast of The Dark Knight Rises as well.

HitFix reports that just this past Monday, actor Liam Neeson (The Grey,Battleship) was seen on the London set of The Dark Knight Rises, shooting a scene as Ra’s Al Ghul. Back in April, we brought you the news that Josh Pence (The Social Network, Battleship) was cast as young Ra’s al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises., reportedly portraying in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story.

It isn’t known if the scene Neeson filmed is a flashback, or if it is set in the present day, possibly after being resurrected by the Lazarus Pits, which are rumored (but not confirmed) to appear in the film. It also isn’t yet known if Neeson will be returning to the set for more filming, or if he has completed his contribution to the film after the one day on-set.

The Dark Knight Rises is slated to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
