The Dark Knight Rises: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard Officially Join The Cast; Their Roles Revealed!

Last week, we told you that Josh Pence (The Social Network, Battleship) has been cast as young Ra’s al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises. Pence will portray the character originally played by Liam Neeson in Nolan’s first Bat-film, Batman Begins and his scenes will reportedly take place 30 years prior to the present story. The casting news further fueled speculation that Marion Cotillard, who signed onto the cast back in February would be portraying Talia Al Ghul.

Now, Warner Bros. has (finally) announced that both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard have officially  joined the cast of Nolan’s forthcoming Bat-film, and they have also announced which characters the two will play in the film. Gordon-Levitt is said to be portraying John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon, and Cotillard will be portraying Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.
