The CW Finds a Beast Amongst the Dinos for its Beauty and the Beast

Public service reminder: The CW‘s Beauty and the Beast pilot is the one that’s a reboot of the 1980’s Beauty and the Beast with Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, not the reimagining of the classic fairy tale that’s being developed by ABC. We told you last week about the Beauty they cast, Kristin Kreuk. Now we have news about their Beast.

And he will look familiar to Terra Nova fans. Deadline broke the news that Australian Jay Ryan has been cast as the “beast” Vincent Koslow. He played Curran in Terra Nova, the one who was exiled and went to live with (and infiltrate) the Sixers.

In this reboot, the beauty, Catherine, saw her mother murdered nine years ago, and then saw the murderer killed by Vincent, who was himself the victim of a military experiment gone horribly wrong. Catherine, now an NYPD homicide detective, has finally found Vincent after years of looking, and will protect him and his identity. They’re calling it a modern day romance with a procedural twist. You and I know it’s a superhero show.

We’ll keep you posted.
