THE CAPE: Freshman Finale Will Not Air On NBC, To Conclude Online Instead

NBC’s caped hero series is making its conclusion online instead of being broadcast on the network. The Cape will conclude its truncated freshman season online at NBC.com in an “exclusive episode just for online fans.” Last month the network cut the episode order from thirteen episodes to ten. The finale was to air this week, but has now been rescheduled for an online presentation at some point in March.

The Cape has not been what the network had hoped as a follow-up to fill the void of Heroes. The show has suffered declining ratings since the premiere, dropping to a series low last week with barely 4 million viewers. Originally, the finale was to air back-to-back with the ninth episode last week, but NBC chose to air fan-fave Chuck instead.

The Cape stars David Lyons, Summer Glau and James Frain.

Is it just me or does it seem like this is a quiet way to shove the show under the rug?
