If you watch “The Big Bang Theory”, you already know how Dr. Sheldon Cooper interacts with other humans. Due to what actor Jim Parsons calls Sheldon’s “lack of delicacy with the English language”, our favorite eccentric genius lands in the pokey and thus missing his chance to meet the legendary comic book icon Stan Lee.
This episode, entitled “The Excelsior Acquisition” airs on March 1st. Here’s a summary of this ep:
The Excelsior Acquisition Sheldon misses his chance to meet comic book legend Stan Lee when he winds up in traffic court when he gets a ticket because of Penny.
Stan Lee will guest star on “The Excelsior Acquisition”. His appearance grew out of a favor the show asked of him for an earlier episode in which Stan Lee’s autograph was an active prop. Turns out that show creator Chuck Lorre and Lee have known each other from Marvel Animation years ago.

In classic Sheldon style, Sheldon does not like being accused of wrong-doing. Parsons explains what happens with his character at traffic court:
“He gets pushed to his limits and gets cross with the judge. The phrase ‘catching more flies with sugar than with vinegar’ makes no sense to him. The truth is really all that matters.”
Of course, Sheldon and jail don’t mix. Chuck Lorre says:
“[When Sheldon] realizes he doesn’t [have] a private bathroom, … he’s ready to apologize. He’s not willing to urinate in front of other felons. His self-righteousness dissipates as soon as he realizes he’s not going to get special treatment.”
Sheldon will get to meet Stan Lee in the end though. Lorre continues:
“He misses the [autograph] session Stan was doing at the comic book store, but he meets him at the end of the episode. It doesn’t go well, but he does meet him.”
Watch “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS, Mondays at 9:30pm ET/PT.
[Commentary]
What I want to know is what on earth Sheldon does to get a traffic ticket? He doesn’t drive! How does Penny incur a ticket upon Sheldon? I’m going to go with jay-walking, but that sounds a little too mundane for Sheldon. What’s your bet?
