Earlier this week, we brought you a gallery of images from director Joss Whedon’s forthcoming Marvel Studios film The Avengers, featuring Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

Now, we have some new images featuring Whedon directing S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) alongside Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), along with an image of a very intense looking  Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and an image of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in what could be the cockpit of the Quinjet. Marvel Studios has announced that the first trailer for The Avengers will debut next week. The trailer is set for release on Tuesday, October 11th  and we’ll bring it to you as soon as it’s available!

The Avengers starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston is slated to hit theaters on May 4th, 2012.
